Week 47 Keto Diet Weight Loss Update – Starting an Egg Fast

Only 5 more weeks left and I will have been on the ketogenic diet for a year.  Week 47 was another decent week.  I managed to lose 1.4 lbs this week so I'm that much closer to getting to my goal of losing 100 lbs in a year on the Keto diet.

I've also decided that this week I'm going to start an egg fast.  It's probably going to run 3-4 days.  

People do egg fasts in a number of different ways and for several reasons.  Most people do the egg fast because their weight has stalled or plateaued.  ​ Most of these people see some good results while doing this egg fast.

I think this is for a couple of reasons.  First, I think this fat fast gets their macros back in line with the ketogenic diet.  I think for most of these people they have had some carb creeping, too many artificial sweeteners, or not doing total carbs.  

The egg fast helps eliminate this and gets them back on basically a more strict Keto diet.  I also thing this fast can be more calorie restricting.  It's tough to eat eggs for every meal so I think you will eat less.  Anyway, that's my thoughts on why this works going into the fast.  It could change.

While doing the fast most people eat small meals and for every egg they have they add 1 tablespoon of butter.  I'm going to modify this for myself.  First, I'm going to stick to eating in an 6-8 hours window so that I'm not breaking my intermittent fasting too soon.   I will probably be eating 2 meals during this time.

Also I am going to add 1 tablespoon of fat to my eggs but it might not be only butter.  I'm thinking my homemade mayo, coconut oil and also cheese will make up these fats.

I will be having cheese too but I'm limiting that to 2-3 ounces a day.  I just find that too much dairy stalls my weight loss.
