Egg Fast Day 1 – Let’s get this started!

Time to get this 3-day egg fast started.   First  I want to cover some rules for this fast.  Obviously, I'm going to be eating eggs on this fat fast.  Lots of eggs.

With every egg I eat, I'm also going to add 1 tablespoon of fat.  This can be butter, my homemade mayo, coconut oil or cheese products.  

I'm also going to limit the carbohydrates to just what is in the eggs and cheese products.  No added carbs with keto friendly vegetables.  

With this combination I should be able to hit the macros I want to achieve.  I'm shooting for close to 80% fat, around 20% protein and minimal carbs.

Onto how day one went....

My first meal of the day was around noon today.  I was in a hurry so I had 6 hard boiled eggs and made them into deviled eggs ghetto style.  Part of them I put my plain homemade mayo, others I used seasoned mayo and the last few I went with butter.

It was pretty good and the butter ones weren't as bad as I thought they might be.  They were just a little dry but tasted okay.  

For supper I had 4 scrambled eggs cooked in 3 tablespoons of butter.  I also added 1 ounce of cheddar cheese and a little bit of hot sauce.

Day 1 of the egg fat fast went pretty good.  I was a little hungry off and on but I think it was because I was thinking about what I was eating next and tracking all my macros.  I've become so automatic is my keto diet that I normally don't think about it anymore.

Overall for the day I ended up eating 1398 calories, 3 grams of carbs (1%), 123 grams of fat (79%), and 72 grams of protein(20%).  Pretty much right where I wanted to be.  On to day 2 of the egg fat fast.
